Trecatti Landfill Site Works – South Wales
The Trecatti landfill project site is situated in what is now a disused open cast mining facility. This has been the location of a numerous successful Walters projects over a number of years, the first of which was completed in 1993. This 10 million m3 site is regarded as one of the most exposed landfills in the country, as such it’s subject to severe weather conditions, adding challenges to any attempt to undertake works.
Tir John Landfill Site (Swansea) – Remediation
The Tir John landfill project (near Swansea) required Walters to work closely with landfill project designer Jacobs Engineering Limited, who had divided this scheme into two sections. The first stage of the project was capping works to remediate a used landfill area; this involved site clearance, surface water drainage and the installation of leachate drains.
