Parc Derwen Bridgend – A new Village
Bridgend County Borough Council had allocated 85 hectares of land near Bridgend, South Wales, for the development of a new village. The plan involved funding and work from various stakeholders, including Persimmon, Taylor Wimpey and the Welsh Assembly Government, to create 1500 new homes and associated amenities in the Parc Derwen area.
Castlegate Caerphilly- Remediation Success Story
In 2002 Walters Land acquired a 60 acre brownfield industrial site on the outskirts of Caerphilly. It had been used for almost half a century as a landfill depository for colliery waste, power station ash, Chemical waste and other glass, rubber and paper waste products.
Ffos Las development, Carmarthenshire
Persimmon Homes acquired the first parcel of residential land, while stables, hospitality venues, grandstands and paddocks were all completed ahead of schedule. The initial tranche of 250 houses sold out quickly and a further 250 were granted permission and subsequently sold as well. Ffos Las is now a thriving venue and community.
