Whiteheads, former steelworks to Housing Development
Not-for-Profit developer Tirion Homes commissioned Walters to complete extensive remediation and redevelopment work on the site of the former Whiteheads Steelworks in Newport. The 53 acre site (derelict since the factory’s demolition in 2005), had become extremely overgrown and contained a significant amount of residual structures
Walters score full marks on complex landfill capping scheme
Due to increased UK wide recycling targets, the Lamby way operation continued several years past its expected operational period. Having finally reached capacity, Walters were selected to carry out the final capping phase – marking the end of the landfill process at Lamby way.
