Full marks for Walters on final phase of landfill capping
We covered an area exceeding 130,000m2 with soils to a depth of 300mm, smoothing out the uneven surface prior to installing a geosynthetic capping membrane, then finished it off with a further layer of 800mm restoration soil to accept seeding and the reintroduction of flora to the site.
Walters Awarded Colliery Drainage Repair Project
Walters have been appointed to undertake remedial works to the former Bedwas Colliery restoration site. The £275,000 project was awarded by Caerphilly County Borough Council following an unrestricted tender procedure. The site, which overlook both the Rhymney and Sirhowy valleys, was formerly home to the Bedwas Navigation Colliery that ceased operation in 1985.
